We are pleased to announce that we are finalists in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Pride Awards for South England and the Channel Islands, Low Budget Campaign of the Year in recognition of our Easter campaign, #LoveBournemouthBunnies.

Created in partnership with one of the South’s leading public relations firms, Darren Northeast PR, #LoveBournemouthBunnies ran in the lead up to Easter with the aim of encouraging residents and visitors to Bournemouth to explore our coastal areas and businesses. By deciphering the clues promoted on social media and in printed publications, including the Bournemouth Echo, the public hunted for Golden bunnies hiding in our levy-paying businesses and had to post selfies of them with the bunnies on social media for the chance to win prizes. We promoted over 90 levy-paying businesses who engaged with us during the campaign.

Hugely successful, #LoveBournemouthBunnies helped to increase footfall by 3.1% over the Easter period. Over 400 people also posted about #LoveBournemouthBunnies on social media whilst the posts about Bournemouth’s coastal areas and #LoveBournemouthBunnies reached more than 310,000 people!

It’s thanks to the outstanding achievements of this campaign in raising awareness for Bournemouth’s Coastal areas that it has been recognized by the CIPR amongst hundreds of applications. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Friday, 17th November when we will find out if this campaign has won a CIPR Pride Award. However, no matter the result, we firmly believe that this campaign has already been a great win for Bournemouth’s Coastal Areas and something we will be building upon with our exciting new app ‘Go Bournemouth Coast’.
