The Coastal BID has set aside £2,026,400 to support a dramatically changing and evolving retail sector. In the next five years, they plan to help Bournemouth’s coastal businesses develop multiple channels through which consumers can experience and buy.

Important to the future success of businesses, they plan to encourage the growth of online sales, responding to changing shopper behaviours to buy anytime via different routes. They will introduce high impact marketing, promotional activities and events, whilst also developing beneficial partnerships across the retail spectrum.

Wayne Bailey, Asda Store Manager said:

“As the largest levy payer in the Coastal BID, we can see it gives us a competitive advantage for our area outside the town centre.’’

Peter Ruscoe, Sovereign Centre Manager said:

“The Coastal BID has enabled us to extend our marketing and tap into a huge range of new events which have helped us to increase footfall to the Sovereign Centre.’’

The Coastal BID is highlighting these plans during their renewal vote. With voting having now commenced, to enable these plans, business must vote ‘YES’ before polls close on the 1st June 2017.
