Boscombe town centre is being given deep clean in preparation for the summer season – thanks to Bournemouth Coastal BID.
Street cleaners have been jet-washing the high street, removing chewing gum and graffiti and making it look like new.
The Coastal BID applied to the Towns Fund and received a grant to enable them to carry out the work.
Teams have been out during the early hours cleaning the streets in front of the shops along the high street.
With hot water blasted at the flagstones the team of professional cleaners is able to remove almost all of the stains and gum.
The money will also allow new murals to be painted, seats added and flowers planted, helping make Boscombe more visually appealing and attractive to visitors.
Paul Clarke, chairman of Bournemouth Coastal BID, said: “Along with the other work going on this will really make a difference in Boscombe.
“A clean place is more likely to attract visitors and when things open up we want tourists to explore the whole area, not just Bournemouth town centre.
“Boscombe – like all our areas from Hengistbury Head to Westbourne – offers a great deal to locals and visitors alike.
“Businesses and our local economy depends on having a busy summer and we will continue to play our part to make it happen.
“Retail, hospitality, catering and other businesses severely affected through the pandemic need the support of us all.”
