Roll over the BAFTAs, you’ve heard it here first, the BAPTAs have arrived!  Let us walk you down the red carpet and introduce you to the latest award ceremony to reach the South of England, the BAPTAs!

Organisers can now officially announce and reveal that the 12th local tourism awards will be known as the BAPTAs, yes, that’s correct – The Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards!

The Bournemouth Tourism Awards have grown year on year, and ROUTEpr now have plans in place to ensure it’s bigger and better than ever for 2018 as we welcome Poole to this year’s tourism awards, where the category award winners will be announced in March 2018. The tourism awards are brought to you by ROUTEpr, marketing and events in association with the Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Management Board.

Said Des Simmons Vice Chairman of Bournemouth Tourism Management Board (BTMB) and Managing Director of Bournecoast, “For the past 2 years the tourism awards have seen unprecedented growth with ROUTEpr marketing and events at the helm, their team have put a lot of passion into the awards and now as Bournemouth and Poole Tourism join forces and the Bournemouth and Poole Management Board work in tandem, the awards will continue in the same way. As two become one, the awards will see growth, as we all join forces to manage the tourism offer for the benefit of the economy and for the visitors to the area.”

Said Jackie Phillipson from the BAPTAs and ROUTEpr, “Our aim is to encourage as many businesses as possiblefrom the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector to enter the awards and that also includes the service and consultancy providers as well as an array of suppliers.

Everyone works so hard to deliver a great experience, so it is important to celebrate the dedication the industry and the professionals who make this destination so special, memorable and a joy to visit. The awards celebrate the hard-working, the dynamic people and businesses from the area who put on such a show every year. Added to which the awards are FREE to enter and have grown by ensuring we work to a clear communication strategy. We have voting categories and a variety of trade and business judges to ensure they are above board, impartial and fair.

We try our best to ensure there is something for EVERY business, large, small, family run, long established, environmentally friendly, the new start-ups, the artisan and entrepreneur as well as the national brands and not forgetting the most amazing staff who go that extra mile for your clients and your business too!

The awards would not be possible without the sponsors and partners, nor without the support of the trade themselves and supporting the forthcoming 2018 awards are Berendsen, Waste Management Facilities, Bournemouth Town Centre BID, Bournemouth English Book Centre, Bournemouth Echo, Wave 105, The Marsham Court Hotel, South West Regional Assessment Centre (SWRAC), Meridian Lifts, Hallmark Hotels, and Merley House and the ROUTEpr team are actively seeking sponsors and partners to support the awards as well as locations to launch and to celebrate the awards.”

Said Paul Dredge Chairman of Poole Tourism Management Board, “In what is really an evolution of the awards presented annually in each town, we are delighted that the BAPTAs mark a significant step in recognising the outstanding destination on offer.  As the two tourism industry management boards begin to work more closely to develop Bournemouth & Poole as one of the UK’s prime destinations, it is expected that the BAPTAs will grow to include the excellent tourism provision across the conurbation and throughout Dorset.”

Last year’s statistics showed that 170 businesses, sponsors and VIPs attended the launch party at Bournemouth University, 220 semi-finalists and sponsors were in attendance at Oasis Fun Café Bournemouth and over 500 guests attended The Finals Gala Dinner – an evening of celebration, fun, great networking and entertainment. The 2017 awards saw a further 64% increase in nominations, 56% increase in entries. Well worth the time spent to complete your entry as it lets you take a look at your business.
