Tackling Local Security Concerns

Many businesses in our area are facing challenges with increased shoplifting, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and general security concerns. We’ve been actively working with the Police and BCP Council to address these issues, and we encourage all businesses to report incidents as soon as possible after they occur.

The Importance of Reporting

Recent police data showed just one report of ASB on Boscombe Precinct in the last thirty-one days. While we know there are many more occurrences, without actual reporting, our areas won’t be highlighted as hot spots. It’s crucial that every incident, no matter how small, is reported.

How to Report

We encourage all businesses to use the Dorset Police reporting systems. Your reports help the police understand the scope of the issues we’re facing and allocate resources where they’re needed most:

Overnight Security Patrols For Hotels

Over the Summer, we introduced overnight security patrols for Coastal BID hotels. This service includes:

  • On-call service Friday and Saturday nights
  • Hotels can call our rangers to attend and assist with specific issues
  • Support with removing troublesome guests
  • Protection against attempted vehicle break-ins
  • Visible security presence during vulnerable hours

The initiative is proving invaluable for many of our hoteliers in deterring crime and providing security during vulnerable hours.
