Bournemouth’s Coastal BID has laid down plans to support the growth of businesses on the Seafront. Utilising beautiful award winning beaches, they plan to attract new signature events, especially between October and March to grow the number of off-season visitors.

Raising awareness for the special character of the Seafront, they plan to attract more residents and locals. This includes exploring opportunities to extend Bournemouth’s Christmas experience to the seafront, whilst consolidating existing and successful events.

Support will be given to established licensees by advocating fairness in trading standards in comparison to ‘seasonal pop-ups’ and licensed mobile stallholders.  Further measures will also aim to increase mutually-beneficial partnerships between Seafront and other BID businesses.

Peter Collett of Openwide, Zip Wire & RockReef comments:

“We are keen to work with other organisations along the Seafront and across the Coastal BID area so we can help each other generate more business.’’

The Coastal BID is highlighting these plans ahead of their renewal vote. Ballots have now been posted, with voting commencing on the 2nd May. Polls will close on the 1st June 2017.
