DATE: Saturday 3rd December
TIME: 9:45am – 5:00pm
Join us to celebrate Santa’s arrival in Boscombe! Santa’s Grand Parade will leave Boscombe Pier at 9.45am, arriving at Sovereign Shopping centre at 10.15am.
Supported by Bournemouth Coastal BID and Westbourne Rotary the parade will be led by children invited by local charity Amelia Grace Rainbow Fund in the Bournemouth land train. The charity does great work supporting children suffering from terminal, life-limiting and serious chronic illness.
The parade will feature the Dolphin marching band, Wessex Majorettes, Elsa and stilt walking reindeer who will guide Santa to the Sovereign Shopping Centre via Sea Road. Once at the centre, The Worshipful The Mayor of Bournemouth Councillor Edward J Coope and Shopping Centre Manager Peter Ruscoe will welcome Santa to his grotto!
On the day, Children can enjoy free face painting between 11.30am and 1.30pm, a musical performance by Queen Elsa from Frozen between 11.15am and 12.45pm and and a host of other surprises!
The grotto will officially open at 10.30am and children invited by Amelia Grace Rainbow Fund will be first to see Santa. This year, the grotto will be £4 with all monies raised supporting a number of good causes: Dorset Mind via Westbourne Rotary, Rotary Food Parcles via Boscombe and Southbourne Rotary and Amelia Grace Rainbow Fund via Sovereign Shopping Centre.
Shopping Centre Manager, Peter Ruscoe comments, “We’re really excited for the return of the Grotto which we’re working on with Westbourne, Boscombe and Southbourne Rotary Clubs. The parade and opening event will be a day full of fun and surprises, guaranteed to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Once again, we’re delighted to be able to support the work of Amelia Grace Rainbow Fund with our portion of monies raised via the grotto.”
