The BID has announced the results of its inaugural ‘Best dressed Christmas Window’ Competition which took place across the three Coastal Villages of Southbourne, Boscombe and Westbourne.
BID Manager, Alun Williams commented, “The number of shops participating and making sure that their shop windows look their very festive best this Christmas has been phenomenal. Competition has been high and it proved a real task selecting our final winners. ”
Judging was carried out by BID Business Support Executive, Anna Chamberlain, in conjunction with the Chairs of the three local trading districts. Anna exclaimed, “I particularly enjoyed the judging and the opportunity to announce the three winners; Tilly’s Gift Shop on Southbourne Grove in Southbourne, ‘Little Bits of Lovely’ in the Royal Aracade, Boscombe and Polished Nail Salon on Seamoor Road in Westbourne.”
Tilly’s Gift Shop Manager, Karen enthused, “I am thrilled to have won a £250 voucher for the Larder House Restaurant in Southbourne. I’m looking forward to taking my mum as a thank you for regularly helping me out in the shop. I’m delighted that the shop window has been recognised for this award. I’m constantly making changes to it, particularly at the moment, as shoppers keep buying the items displayed!”
Michelle Divers from ‘Little Bits of Lovely’ wins a £250 voucher for the award winning Koh Thai Tapas Restaurant in Boscombe and exclaimed, “We are over the moon with our win. It’s the second Christmas that we’ve been open and we’ve themed the window on fairies and princesses – a little girl’s festive dream! We will be enjoying a staff night out at Koh Thai Restaurant in the New Year and can’t wait!”
Naomi Chown from Polished Nail Salon in Westbourne receives £250 worth of marketing design work from one of Bournemouth’s leading design agencies, Tandi Creative Media. Naomi said of her win, “I am thrilled to be selected. I feel very proud and overwhelmed by the kind words that my clients and passers-by have made about the display. I absolutely love Christmas so it’s great to receive this award. I’m already planning next year’s display!”
